2008-2009 Staff Development Opportunities

This site will update on a frequent basis so please check back often to explore other professional development opportunities.

Principals are providing three days of inservice at each school during Summer 2008. Inservices at which teachers choose the stipend option do not count toward this requirement. There are other additional opportunities available but teachers must have prior approval of the building level principal to substitute days.

There are eight required days of inservice annually: Summer (2 or 3); Systemwide Inservice (1); Workdays at schools (2); P/T Conferences (1); Faculty meetings throughout year (1).

Additional inservice time that is accumulated may be used toward license renewal and should be documented on the annual professional development form that is returned to the Central Office. In addition, a stipend option is often available for employees in lieu of inservice credit.

ALL INSERVICES BEGIN AT 8:30 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. ALL SUMMER STIPENDS WILL BE PAID IN THE JULY 31, 2008 PAYROLL CYCLE.
